She has been in private practice, where she works with children, adolescents, adults, and famlies, for over 20 years. Dr. Elissa is currently working on a book with her friend and fellow author, Birgitta Karlen. The book is part of a series that follows Ms. Karlen's first book, "Ten Tips for the Frazzled Parent." Dr. Elissa and Ms. Karlen are writing an indepth parenting book that includes easy to digest theory behind each parenting tip as well as many easy to implement parenting strategies based upon Dr. Elissa's 20+ years working with families.
